Who are we
Hey! I'm Amy, 29 years young and recovering from a stem cell transplant over the last 6 months for Acute Myeloid Luekemia. As a transplant patient you are given "the next 7 steps" to help guide your recovery so I decided to add a few more! I want to push myself to go on a 10k walk with my partner Chloe to help save the lives of people with blood cancer. Without my donors cells I could not confidently say what my treatment options would of been or what kind of time I'd have left to enjoy my life. This year I am going to be 30, I'm returning to study and planning a wedding, all thanks to a donor.
Chloe:
My partner Amy was diagnosed with AML in August and, after a round of chemotherapy, had a Stem Cell Transplant (also know as a bone marrow transplant) in November. Amy has been a second chance due to the generosity of her donor. We want to raise money for Anthony Nolan who match potential donors with patients via the donor register. Personally I can’t express my gratitude to Anthony Nolan enough, but with your generosity we could give another patient a second chance at life.
So, what can you do to help?
Your contribution however big or small with have an immediate impact on someone's life span. Without you, there is no cure.
We have a £400 goal as it will cover the costs to add 10 people to the Anthony Nolan registry! That's 10 lives!
£4 = a step in the right direction
£40 = one person added to be a donor
£200 = 10 hours of one to one specialist support
£400 = ten people added to be a donor
£900 = 1000 swab packs!
PRICELESS= BEING THE DONOR! please take a look at the Anthony Nolan web page and register to donate your cells! You'll be sent a swab pack and if you are successful the procedure only requires for you to be available for one day. You can communicate anonymously with your donor after to see how they are doing!
