Event: Theo's Marathon for Mabel and Wes
COVID-19: Ensuring the stability of Sands' future work for bereaved parents, their families, and anyone affected by baby loss.

Story

Theo has decided to run a marathon! He is doing laps around the garden everyday until he has run a marathon (his aim is to do this in 10 days!). He wants to do this in memory of Wes and Mabel and to help others during this difficult time. Thank you to Mrs Wojcik, his lovely year 1 and year 2 teacher, who encouraged and inspired him to start running.x

I am doing my bit to help Sands and give something back for them helping so many bereaved families in their darkest of days. The COVID-19 outbreak is affecting families across the UK and those affected by the death of a baby will need Sands support more than ever. They have already seen an increase in demand for their bereavement support services. In these uncertain times, the Sands helpline and online community are vital in keeping bereaved families connected by offering a safe, confidential and compassionate space to talk.Sands will not be immune from the effects of this pandemic. Their own staff and volunteers, many of whom are bereaved parents themselves, are working tirelessly to provide support and do whatever they can to help alleviate some of the anxiety. I am joining the fight and doing my bit to help ensure that Sands can continue to function, but I need your help.
