Theo is our COSMIC star! 

 

 

On Theo’s birthday we can’t help but remember how we spent his first birthday and be immensely thankful for the amazing team at St. Mary’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit that we are celebrating another year with him. 

 

Theo arrived in St. Mary’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit just after midnight on his first birthday via ambulance transfer from another hospital.  He spent 3 weeks in St. Mary’s being treated for a rare life-threatening reaction to strep pneumonia, called Haemolytic Uraemic Syndrome.   Multiple blood transfusions, days hooked up to a haemofiltration machine, and two surgeries later, Theo was on the mend.  We are forever grateful for the amazing life-saving care Theo received at St. Mary’s.   COSMIC, the charity that supports St. Mary’s PICU, has a special place in our hearts.
