Hi All, I am currently on Umrah pilgrimage in the Holy Cities of Madinah and Makkah and thought that I’d set myself a challenge whilst here and climb the Mount of Light (Jabl Al Noor) to raise funds for the Anzal Begum Foundation.

The money raised by this challenge will go to helping Orphan children in Pakistan.

There are 4.2 million orphan children in Pakistan; these children of Pakistan suffer continuously under stress and hunger, with no access to education, medicine, safety and even clothing. We could not imagine these circumstances for our children, but these children live it everyday. With your donations we will be able to help orphan children in extremely desperate areas of Pakistan to pay for food, clothing,medicine and education so that they can develop over time and have a chance to create a brighter future.

The cause of helping orphans has been at the heart of the Anzal Begum Foundation as my late Mother Anzal Begum always supported the needy, especially orphan children who were close to her heart.

The Anzal Begum Foundation is a charity set up to continue the great Charitable work of a remarkable woman - Anzal Begum. To date, we have raised funds and donated to many projects with in the UK and internationally.

My hike up the mountain will be 2100m high and will take almost three hours in the blistering heat to reach its peak. This is also the mountain where the first verses of the Holy Quran were revealed and also a place of solace for the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) during his phase of troubles and hardship.

I will be carrying out this challenge on the 4th of January 2020 kickstarting the year by making a meaningful difference through the Anzal Begum Foundation.
