Story
James, Rob, Patch and Sean - the self-styled 'Ramble Chaps' - are going to hike the 'Rushcliffe 100' on Friday 10th July. This circular path wends for 100km through our native Rushcliffe's fabled countryside. We'll be doing it in one go, non-stop, overnight - which we reckon will take us about 24hrs, give or take.
The point of this madness is to raise some cash for two cracking causes:
1) Donations made via this webpage will go to the Covid-19 Urgent Appeal. This is supporting our awe-inspiring NHS staff and volunteers who continue to battle coronavirus on our behalf. The money raised will go beyond what NHS funding can ordinarily provide, including wellbeing packs and costs associated with travel, parking, accommodation and volunteer expenses.
2) We would also like to raise funds for the Castle Rock Hardship Fund. This fund was set up by the lovely chaps at Castle Rock brewery to help their most vulnerable staff through these uncertain times. We have long been regulars at our two terrific Castle Rock locals, the Stratford Haven and the Poppy & Pint. We'll be heading to the P&P immediately after the walk on Saturday 11th July for a few pints before we collapse (would be great to see you there!). If you would like to donate this fund, please make your donation at: https://uk.gofundme.com/f/castle-rock-hardship-fund.
Now that lockdown has been sufficiently relaxed (and the pubs re-opened!) it's time to lace up the hiking boots and hit the trail on Friday. We're taking all necessary safety precautions, and we won't be doing it alone - some of our legendary friends and family will be meeting us at checkpoints along the way with supplies and to chivvy us along. Huge thanks to them.
Thank you for reading. Any donation of any size will be massively appreciated! The Ramble Chaps X
