Story

On the 14 of July I’ll be striding into the tide of Morecambe Bay to raise money for some of the poorest people on the planet.

This rare opportunity to be guided safely through the quick sand of Morecambe Bay is a treat not to be missed. The setting is dramatic, the sea ‘refreshing’ and the textures underfoot at times surprising. As I recall from my exhilarating crossing in 2011, it’s a great way to polish your feet!

Compared to wading upstream in the rainforest to visit remote MfM projects this 8 mile trek shouldn’t be too tricky. And I can still knock a few years off our official ‘Queen’s Guide’ who has been guiding people across Morecambe Bay for 50 years!. In fact the biggest challenge in my opinion is not so much crossing the bay as crossing your legs when there aren’t any amenities for miles around! But this time I plan to bring an emergency ‘lamba’ (sarong) and we have also booked tea and toilets as our reward at Abbot Hall, Kents Bank.

If you can’t join me please sponsor me.

Many thanks Theresa (and crew).
