South Bucks Hospice (SBH) is an amazing building full of passionate and caring staff. They are not just caring for Andy, or preparing him for his end of life but heavily supporting myself and the children.
I have received some individual counselling and and I am being given lots of guidance in how best to support my boys through the next stages of Andys illness.
The services that they are able to provide, include complimentary therapies for Andy to help manage his pain which would not be otherwise available to him. The nurses are committed to 'old-fashioned' nursing which will include teaching Andy how to maintain as much independence as possible, for as long as possible as well as simply listening and hand-holding.
SBH are due to move premises to a purpose built site where many more services can be offered, but funds are still required to complete their target.This new building will become a safe place for Andy and I and will ensure that complimentary therapies are available to ease some pain and discomfort that is being felt both physically and emotionally.
