Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are raising money for Sands - the UK's leading stillbirth and neonatal charity. We have chosen this charity as it is very close to the heart of one of our members and his family who unfortunately suffered the tragedy of a stillbirth earlier this year.
We will be taking part in a 12 workouts in 12 hours on the 17th September 2022 at our gym facility, The Rig. This will be a tough challenge for everyone involved. Some members and family/friends will be taking part in the full 12 hours and others will be dropping in to support when they are able. We are extremely grateful for all donations we receive for this amazing charity. Anyone who wishes to come support and take part are more than welcome, member or not! All we ask is you make a donation to the charity.
Sands exists to reduce the number of babies dying and to ensure that anyone affected by the death of a baby receives the best possible care and support for as long as they need it.
Sands works in partnership with health care professionals, trusts and health boards and offers a range of training programmes and bereavement care resources to ensure that every bereaved parent and family receives the best possible care wherever they are in the UK.
Sands supports and promotes research to better understand the causes of baby deaths and save babies’ lives. The charity also raises awareness of baby loss and works with governments, key influencers and other stakeholders to make reducing the number of babies dying a priority nationally and locally.
Over the past 40 years, Sands has grown into a national charity with a powerful vision, to create a world where fewer babies die, shared by dedicated volunteers, fundraisers, members, donors, healthcare professionals, partners, staff and bereaved parents and families.
