My son had Plagiocephaly and Brachiocephaly (Flat head syndrome) when he was a baby and it cost us quite a bit of money for his treatment as it is not recognised by most NHS. The potential risk of this syndrome is that if the skull is misshapen it can put pressure on the brain and could cause developmental issues in the future.
Due to Plagiocephaly and Brachiocephaly being relatively new syndromes as a result of the back to sleep campaign, it's still unclear as to the extent of damage that leaving it untreated can cause.
My wife and I realise that some families are not in the position to be able to afford these treatments so we'd like to try and raise money for the charity Headstart 4 Babies, which help fund this treatment for families who may not otherwise be able to afford it.
