Welcome to our event “A Journey Home” just giving page

This event has now been dedicated to the memory of
Company Sgt Major WO2 Ian Fisher
3rd Battalion (Staffords) Mercian Regiment Killed In Action
5th November 2013 Helmand province Afghanistan

3 Mercian (Staffords) who are currently deployed in Afghanistan on HERRICK 19 and The Staffordshire Regimental Association have each set an equal task in support of The Mercian Regimental Benevolent Charity and The Combat Stress Charity. These task’s will be completed during the Battalions last tour of duty as Staffords before they are merged in to 1 and 2 Mercian. The event will consist of each team covering 4,520 miles by land the distance from camp Bastion in Afghanistan to the Kings Head Pub in Lichfield Staffordshire the birth place of the Staffords.

3 Mercian (Staffords) will undertake there part during there current active service whilst the Staffordshire Regimental Association will undertake there part in as many varied ways as possible. The event will commence on the 1st November 2013 and the last mile will be completed together on 1st April 2014.
