WIN a collection of some personal mementos from his time working on The Terror. (He must be mad for giving these away!)
ABOUT: The Terror is an American horror drama television series. It's named after Dan Simmon's 2007 novel and premiered on March 25 2018, on AMC. It has recently had a renaissance on the BBC in the UK in the Spring of 2021.
It was developed by writer and show runner David Kajganich and is a fictionalised account of Captain Sir John Franklin's lost expedition to the Arctic in 1845–1848. It featured Jared Harris as Captain Francis Crozier, Tobias Menzies as Commander James Fitzjames, Paul Ready as Dr. Harry Goodsir, and Cierán Hinds as Franklin. Richard played the minor role of SirJames Clark Ross in three of the ten episodes filming in Budapest and Croatia.
A message from Richard: "I have so many happy memories of my time working on the The Terror and I'm very proud to be a part of such a cult success. I've found the show's community of fans to be the most devoted and loving supporters and because of this, I wanted to give something back to say thank you to them for their hand in the show's continued success."
CAUSE: All of the money raised will be given to Grief Encounter - a charity close to Richard's heart - who provide information, guidance and support to bereaved children and their carers following the death of a parent or a sibling. www.griefencounter.org.uk
PRIZE: A great opportunity to own some of Richard's personal memorabilia of the show's history. An incredibly rare selection of items including an Original Shooting Script signed by Richard (Complete with his handwritten character notes and rude doodles!), an as yet unreleased in the UK copy of the full 1st season of The Terror on DVD and on Blu-ray (From the lovely people at Acorn Media), Richard's copy of Michael Palin's terrific book EREBUS (Signed by the author), a Personalised The Terror thermos flask which was a gift from AMC to all the cast and crew when the show finished filming, some James Clark Ross Vintage Postage Stamps from 1971, Richard's Studio Security Photo ID complete with a The Terror Lanyard and a selection of Richard's Make-up/Costume test photographs from pre production. All for just £5 a ticket! This is your once-in-a-lifetime chance to own it all!
"There are a few reasons why I'm giving this incredible prize away: Firstly it would have been Sir James’s 221st birthday this week so what better way to honour the great man? Secondly, it's for a truly wonderful charity who deserve all the help they can get - Especially after such a tough year. And finally, I’m certain that the items will go to someone who’ll really appreciate them. Oh! And I'm moving house soon and just have TOO MUCH STUFF!"
