Reasons for doing this mad swim

The challenge came from my cousin Amanda!. A 2 Km open water swim would get us fit and also aid a great local charity. We formed a team with her daughter Emily and have  trained together since April at the 50m pool at Mount Kelly school. Swimming continually for over an hour at a time certainly gets you fit. The first swim at Roadford Lake in June was a nightmare. All the race distances were halved because of the atrocious weather conditions. Marker Bouys came adrift and some of us thought they were going to freeze to death in spite of wearing a  full wetsuit.

So we thought it would be a good? idea to do this for a second time and hopefully swim in much more benign conditions.

We thank all of you who gave the first time around on Amanda's page and hope you will feel generous enough to support us for a second time and also persuade some more friends into supporting us in this noble cause.
