The VC Ashworth Cycle · 13 May 2013

The Victoria Cross Trust cleans and maintains the graves of the recipients of the highest award for Valour - The VC - that are not looked after by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. We also ensure that their memories are maintained through educating the public in a variety of different media. Through our network of veterans, to whom we provide support and activities to keep them active and fulfilled, and a network of volunteers we ensure that the 'graves of the brave' are not forgotten. Our charity is small but with a big name and we ensure that our donations are focused directly on our charitable aims and respecting the highest award for Valour - The Victoria Cross.

Story

The VC Ashworth Cycle Saturday August 24th

The VC Ashworth Cycle is a one day cycling event taking place on August bank holiday weekend. This cycling event is 120miles in 1 day on Saturday 24th August but don’t worry if you do not want to cycle the whole event we will be splitting the course up in to 30 mile legs. This cycle is open to everyone, in honour of James Ashworth VC and all other Victoria Cross recipients. We will be starting our journey from James Ashworth’s memorial at Shire Lodge Cemetery, Corby. Finishing at the first recipient of the VC, Charles Lucas, memorial at St Lawrence’s Church (Mereworth Kent).  We have decided to cycle from the last recipient of the Victoria Cross to the first ever recipient of the Victoria Cross , to raise money and awareness for The Victoria Cross Trust.

So please dig deep and donate.
