Ward 19 day Unit arvanitis heartlands hospital provides facilities for more than 8,000 chemotherapy and other medical treatment per year including acute admissions

This is a unit which was built in 2002 and the demand for its services necessitates the full refurbishment of the unit including the construction of single rooms to isolate infected patients and minimise the spread of infections to other vulnerable patients 

We are also establishing the DKMS harvesting unit which will enable the bone marrow harvesting of healthy donors and transport these life saving cells across the world for  patients with haematological conditions and malignancies to have a life saving procedure

The creation of the state of the art Solihull chemotherapy Day Unit has transformed completely the care delivered to our patients 

The Heartlands site with a significant number of highly complicated transplant patients is currently in a similar need
