Story

4 cousins stretching themselves to the limit to raise vital funds for 3 amazing woman's cancer charities, Ovarian Cancer Action, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust and Breast Cancer Care.

In Oct-2019 we will be squeezing into our lycra and cycling 366km across volcanic Costa Rica as part of the Woman V Cancer initiative.

4 years ago I was diagnosed with a rare type of ovarian cancer which was staged as 2C, meaning that the cancer had spread from my ovary to other tissues in my pelvis.  I had 2 surgeries and 6 rounds of chemo to get rid of the niggling cells hanging about. Then in Jun-16 following a preventative hysterectomy, removal of my cervix and my omentum, tests showed that my cancer had already returned with a 2nd tumour and cells found on the outside of my remaining ovary.  With my surgery complete, I'll continue to have 3 monthly checkups and because of it's rare nature I'll be looked after for life.

Now that I know I'll be dealing with this forever, I'm determined to do everything I can to aid in the research & support AND THIS TIME I'VE ROPED IN MY FAMILY TO HELP!  My sister, Karen and 2 cousins, Brenda and Michelle have crazily volunteered to join me and I couldn't love them more!  I truly believe woman are stronger together and these cycles embody every element of that.

All expenses will be covered so that every penny raised will go straight to the 3 charities.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our page and for sparing your hard earned pennies, we appreciate all your support.

Love Kirsty, Brenda, Karen and Michelle x
