Well, here we go again! This time myself and Craig have chosen to take part in the half marathon in the Great Birmingham Run in honour of our work colleague who has been diagnosed with Cancer. We both agree this is a great way to help raise funds for ROC and raise awareness of Cancer along the way. They have asked to remain anonymous in the public domain and would like this to be respected.

Our colleague has worked at Royal Orthopaedic Hospital for 45 years! They are committed, dedicated and is a beautiful person with humour as part of their daily routine! They are very much loved in the Facilities department and throughout ROH. I have personally spoke to our colleague on the phone and this what they had to say:

“I would like to thank all my colleagues for their love, best wishes and support. It has been very appreciated. I also want to thank the people who have been looking after me and continue to do so. Everyone has been great, so humbling. It has been hard but I’m OK. I’m touched that Phill and Craig think this much of me to be running in honour of myself. I think it’s great and thank them both. I’m just glad it’s not me! Good luck!”

Cancer affects everybody and doesn’t care about it’s destruction. We need to hold on to hope and continue to fundraise, raise awareness and above all stay strong.

Myself and Craig realise that we are in tough times with various crisis affecting everyday life and are grateful for whatever you do to support us. Our work colleague would like money raised to go towards something for staff / patients of ROH. More on this will follow in due course.

Thank you.

This is for you! 💙
