Thomas' Fifty Miles in Thirty Days

Fifty Miles in Thirty Days · 6 February 2021
I read the book "The Boy at the Back of the Class" by Onjali Q. Rauf with my Dad. It was about a refugee boy who started a new school in England. He had no friends and couldn't speak English. I really liked it because I learned about how hard it is for refugee children when they have to run away from bombs dropping on houses and bullies. They have to walk to other countries for miles and can lose their family and things.
I would really like to help other children like the boy in the book.
The Red Cross say "The conflict in Syria is in its ninth brutal year, and tens of thousands of families have had their lives torn apart. Families urgently need food, shelter and medical care.Imagine going to work every day in a conflict zone for a wage that barely buys enough food for your family - then coming home to your children who are frightened, hungry and struggling to keep warm? This is everyday life for Sobhi and his family. Families in Syria, like Sobhi's, are not safe.A small act of kindness can give hope to people who have lost so much."
