3. Adventure challenge.
The Charity Fundraiser will consist of 8 apprentice’s competing to complete 150 miles on a treadmill, cross trainer and bike. Although the challenge is not a competition I believe they will personally be competing with each other to complete their miles in the fastest possible time.
So please dig deep and donate now.
On behalf of the apprentices Thomas Hyland says “All eight of us are very grateful for this excellent opportunity to take part in this great event and would all like to thank our contracts manager Carl McNicholas, project engineer Kevin Williamson and especially Balfour Beatty Engineering Services.
“There are so many ways that apprenticeships add value: for the employer, they deliver well trained staff who can contribute to future growth; for learners, apprenticeships offer an excellent way to earn and learn and move up the career ladder; and for the UK economy, apprenticeships are vital for filling current skills gaps and helping businesses compete in a global environ...ment.
It is fantastic that the Balfour Beatty Engineering Services apprentices have taken up this challenge; they are great ambassadors’ not only for the scheme but also to the community in which they live. I wish them the very best of luck in this venture.” Jamie Reed, Member of Parliament for Copeland.
