In April 2023, our lives were completely turned upside down when our dad, my best friend and my absolute hero was diagnosed with an aggressive form of kidney cancer. As any family does in this situation, we all sat in complete disbelief. How could this be happening to him. Things progressed very quickly, and by the end of April our dad had his kidney removed. An operation that saved his life. 

Since then, he’s faced a rollercoaster of emotions and treatments. Eve’s trust provided my dad with something incredible, memories. 

The Eve Merton Dreams Trust was founded in 2011. It is a non profit organisation that donates money to help create a dream, grant or a wish for families impacted by terminal illness/serious cancer conditions. Eve Merton sadly passed away in 2011 to ovarian cancer, and to turn the grief of losing a mother into a positive for other cancer patients, the Eve Merton trust was founded. 

This is a small, local charity which as a local lad will always be close to my heart.
