Thank you for visiting this page!

Alder Hey is a specialist children’s hospital and I want to support this charity build its new hospital.

When I was a child, I did a lot of strange and curious things. I used to wonder if the strongest man could throw me to the moon. I used to pray that my toe nails wouldn’t grow so that I would never need to cut them. I used to shout ‘turbo time’ in Chinese when running so that I could beat my cousins who were older than me. I hoped for a young childhood, living carefree... Unfortunately, many children do not have this liberty. The freedom to be child-like, to live and learn in an environment where they are comfortable is not always possible. It is very likely that you have come across or know someone personally who has an illness or disability and you will have no doubt felt the sadness these circumstances can cause.

Hospitals can be a very scary place for adults never mind children. You can worry when you’re being examined, the surroundings can be sterile and cold, not to mention the smells and boredom when waiting.

So I want to share with you a little extract about the Alder Hey charity’s needs.

“As a specialist hospital, Alder Hey provides 275,000 episodes of care to children and young people every year. It is one of Europe’s biggest and busiest children’s hospitals with a national and international reputation as a Centre of Excellence for children with cancer, heart, spinal and brain disease. However, this outstanding care is currently being provided in buildings which are almost 100 years old and are not fit for providing modern day services.”

Remember. ALL the money raised will be helping to build a new Alder Hey site that will not only treat these young people but also teach future doctors and research into cures for childhood illnesses.

The new build looks very impressive (see links below) and I am sure great things will come from it. Let’s encourage these modern day heroes by helping Alder Hey reach the amount it needs for this massive project.

“Together we can make a difference.” – Alder Hey
