Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving Page.

On 3 May, I am running in the Bristol 10k to raise money for St Peter’s Hospice, an inspiring charity which does so much to help adults with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

This Bristol-based hospice provides specialist palliative and end of life care for adults being cared for in both its specialist unit at Charlton Road, Brentry and at home.

As a Wills, Probate and Mental Capacity lawyer at Wards Solicitors I have visited St Peter’s many times in a professional capacity to help patients draw up a Will.

Whenever I go there, I am so impressed by its incredible atmosphere of positivity, love and kindness. The patients and their families are amazing and the staff – well, words can’t describe their compassion and dedication.

It is such a warm and welcoming environment and though the reason for my visits could be seen as sad, the place itself is so full of optimism. I always leave feeling both humbled and inspired by the amazing work done there.

St Peter’s Hospice is close to our hearts at Wards Solicitors. We have been one of the main supporters of its Make a Will fortnight initiative in the last five years helping it to raise more than £100,000 in that time.

Every year, a group of 16 of our Wills, Probate and Mental Capacity lawyers, including myself, give their time free of charge to help people make or update their Will in return for a suggested donation to the hospice.

We feel honoured to be involved.

Every year, St Peter’s cares for more than 2,000 local people, free of charge. It costs around £22,000 a day to provide that care. Which is why I am asking for your help today.
