Great Manchester Run 10k 2021 · 26 September 2021 ·

Take on the Great Manchester Run for families facing dementia. Your much needed donations will fund our specialist dementia Admiral Nurses, who support families facing dementia across the UK.

Story

On January 27th 2019, my Grandad lost his 12 year battle with Dementia.

Me and my Grandad had a very close relationship after the loss of my Dad at a young age; so my Grandads loss was just like losing another father figure. My Grandad lived in and around the Manchester area so doing this run a year on was the best way I could honour his life and the happiness he brought to everyone in my family. Sadly, Covid halted the plans to do the 10K with the postponing of the event until September 2021 of which my previous place has been moved to this years run!

Dementia UK is a charity that supports those who are living with dementia and try's to give them the support and most out of life. 1 in 14 people over the age of 65 develop dementia. Dementia takes the life of 1 in 8 people and has been the biggest cause of death for the past 4 years in the UK.

Any and all donations are greatly appreciated,

Thank you.
