The Railway Children - Three Peaks Challenge by Rail · 17 September 2009 ·

Railway Children has a vision of a world in which no child is lost to the streets. Across the UK, India and Tanzania, our networks provide an opportunity for us to reach children who are alone and vulnerable before they come to serious harm. Together, we’re determined we’ll leave no child behind.

Story

Thanks very much for visiting our fund raising page.

Wow update - and the team have had a tremendous weekend and have successfully completed the  3 peaks challenge.

Having left Euston on Thursday evening at about 1800. the team having dropped Tony off in Preston made it back to Euston at 2330 on Saturday night having spent approximately 18 hours of climbing (and descending) the highest peaks in Wales, England and Scotland (time order).

Times achieved were as follows:

Snowden            4hrs 22 mins

Scafell Pike        6hrs 46 mins

Ben Nevis           6Hrs 31mins

We have all had a quiet Sunday, including Tony who was banned from walking by the lovely Cathy.

Thanks to all of our sponsors, we won the only prize on offer, that of being the most successful fund raisers.  However, that is not enough, so please free to donate some more!!

We would like to thank our corporate friends for their donations and especially to GR Lane Health Products who have sponsored us by the very generous amount of £875.  Tony suffered from osteoarthritis and three years ago was unable to bend and tie a shoelace.  After taking LitoZin Manufactured by GR Lane he is now climbing Snowden, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis in 36 hours. Truly awesome!!

We are a group of friends and acquaintances who have decided to have a go at this arduous event.

we are

Tony Mayo

Steve Coyne

Frank Smead

Bob Browning

The team name is the idea of Steve, who pointed out that the men Tony, Frank and Steve were all older than Bob, who at 51 is most definitely the boy!.

We are all taking part in this for the challenge and the fund raising for the Railway Children, so please give generously.

Many thanks from Three Men and a Boy
