As many of you are aware my Dad died on Monday 18th June. This has been the hardest time for my family and I and although I know that it will, at the moment it feels like the pain will never ease.
My Dad was diagnosed not even a year ago with Lymphoma (Cancer of the lymph nodes) and as some of you I am sure knows too well that when someone close to you is ill, there is a huge feeling of helplessness. So besides giving blood and being tested to donate bone marrow my sister Clare and I decided we would run the race for life!!! This caused huge amusement to my Dad who knew how we would skive off cross country at the first opportunity! Visiting him in hospital for the past 3 months we would update him on how our (sometimes non existent) training was going and he would laugh at our excuses of not being very fit due to our trainers not being light enough or wearing the wrong coloured t-shirt!
Clare and I have decided that Dad would have wanted us to continue with the race for life even though he lost his battle and had already pledged his sponsorship. Please take the time to visit our just giving page and sponsor what you can as every little bit helps in raising money to help find a cure for this disgusting disease.
