Each year the Swindon Downs Syndrome Group raises money to fund speech and language therapy for young people aged between three and 25 within the group. Our sessions are run in addition to the statutory provision provided by the local authority. The aim of the SALT groups is to give our young people the opportunity to develop and practice their speech and language skills in a structured and fun environment. Most sessions run weekly in school term time. We develop skills such as understanding, sentence building, sound recognition and production, listening skills, attention and memory skills and conversational/interaction skills We have two streams of sessions: face-to-face and on-line.
