Story
First of all, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I do this in honor of my recently deceased cat, Tiggher. Tiggher came into my life when I was 11 years old and she was a mere one-year-old. At 16, she was diagnosed early with kidney failure. I was able to get special prescription food for her and keep her healthy and comfortable, even when we moved to South Korea together. We came back to the US in early 2021, where she lived another year and two months, and an undetected heart disease took her. She lived to be 22 years old.
Unfortunately, not every senior cat is afforded as much love and care as Tiggher received in her advanced years. Many older cats end up in shelters because families either can't afford the care or choose not to care for them. Sadly, most of these cats live out their last days in shelters because they are deemed "too expensive" and "unadoptable." The Senior Cat Action Network works to provide medical funding for rescue services to care for senior cats, in addition to operating a "retirement home" to act as a safe haven for senior cats that have nowhere else to go.
