This is a Pregnant Mother’s special care unit based at the John Radcliffe Women's Maternity Unit. It supports 500 pregnant mothers and unborn babies every year with serious and rare difficulties in pregnancy like pre-eclampsia, diabetes, kidney problems, high blood pressure, heart problems and repeated miscarriages.The Silver Star Unit is unique to the John Radcliffe in Oxford. Nowhere else will you find the same combination of skills and staff focused exclusively on the small but highly vulnerable group of pregnant women. The Silver Star Society rely on donations to support these special mums and babies.
