Story
Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG) is a leading children's cancer charity and the UK and Ireland's professional association for those involved in the treatment and care of children with cancer.
We are a group of individuals who are passionate about raising funds for CCLG to improve outcomes for children with cancer. We'll be doing a different dance each day in the week leading up to Christmas and sharing our dances on social media.
We'd love your support! You'll find us on TikTok and also Facebook, Instagram and Twitter - just search #TikTokXmas or #DancingDrBob to find us.
We are:
- Dr Bob Phillips, Consultant in Paediatric and Teenage & Young Adult Oncology at Leeds Teaching Hospitals - he's the star of our show!
- Dr Sharna Shanmugavadivel, a paediatric doctor and NIHR Doctoral Research Fellow, working towards her PhD in childhood cancer diagnosis.
- Dr Angela Polanco, Mum of Bethany who died of Wilm's tumour aged 7 in 2012 (CCLG Fund - Bethany's Wish)
- Sarah & Scott Crowther, parents of Ben who died of alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma aged 7 in 2019 (CCGL Fund - Pass the Smile for Ben)
- Louise Dillon Bennett, mum of Fred who died of leukaemia aged 14 in 2020 (CCLG Fund - Fred's Don't Look Down Fund)
- Emma Jones, Mum of Ruby who died of blood cancer aged 18 in 2020 (CCLG Fund - Ruby's Live Kindly Live Loudly Fund)
Funds raised will be split between these four CCLG funds, each of which supports research to find better treatment for different types of childhood cancer.
