Helen & Douglas House helps local families cope with the challenges of looking after a terminally ill baby or child who will die prematurely. We are a home from home for our patients and their families, and provide round-the-clock care in a warm, loving environment.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

At 07h22 on Sunday 10th August I will set off on the Ride London 100 mile cycle through the streets of London and Surrey. My training has not been as consistent and robust as I would have liked so hopefully I manage to achieve a reasonably respectable time.

I have decided to raise money for the Helen and Douglas House www.helenanddouglas.org.uk This is a charity that provides hospice and palliative care for children and young adults in Oxfordshire and the  surrounding   counties. They care for children who are terminally ill and provide huge support to them and their families. I am cycling in memory of a 9 year old boy Thomas Laurie who suffered from a rare condition - Cockayne Syndrome. Sadly he passed away in February of this year and this charity is one of the nominated charities that his family have chosen to support. Please give generously
