Story
Come September 9 2012 I will be attempting the Paras10 “P Coy Challenge” at Catterick Garrison North Yorkshire (www.paras10.com). This is a 10mile multi-terrain endurance race, which is the same route used as the Parachute Regiments 'P' Company Selection Ten Mile March Route, which is one of arguably the hardest courses in the British Army.
In order to complete the “P Coy Challenge” the route must be completed carrying a rucksack weighing 35lbs (15.88kg) excluding food and water and wearing military style trousers and boots. Cut off time for Paratrooper Selection is 1hr 50mins, which I will be aiming to achieve.
My chosen charity is "Holidays for Heroes Jersey", which provides a week’s holiday on our beautiful island, to any past or present member of HM Forces injured, in mind or body, whilst on active duty. Service men and women put their lives on the line for us yet ask for nothing in return. We owe them so much, therefore by providing them with the opportunity of getting some respite and a chance to forget for a short while the pain and suffering brought about by combat, it will demonstrate in some small way how much they mean to us all. Any donation, big or small will mean a life changing experience for one or more of our Heroes.
My sincerest thanks.
Tim
