London to Brighton Cycle 2023 · 10 September 2023 ·

The London to Brighton Cycle is back and we are looking to go bigger than ever. The largest ever number of Team Bowel Cancer UK cyclists are coming together with one aim - a future where nobody dies of bowel cancer.

Story

I'm taking part in the London to Brighton Cycle 2023 for Bowel Cancer UK. Bowel Cancer UK is the UKs leading bowel cancer charity and is determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.

My best mate, Harry, was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer in early 2021 at the young age of 29. He has been courageously battling and beating the disease for the past two years and has continued to live his life without causing or wanting any fuss. Even throughout numerous rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and two operations he is still working, seeing mates, going on holidays, going on hikes (even during his 3rd round of chemo) and keeping a positive attitude. He’s one of the strongest men I know.

My amazing Nana and incredible Grandpa also had bowel cancer, so it’s something that has affected people close to me for many years.

So, I figured I’d ride my bike from London to Brighton to raise money for this worthy cause and have a beer with Harry afterwards (all funds go to charity, not beers). No matter how big or small, any amount is really appreciated.

The funds raised for the London to Brighton Cycle will help Bowel Cancer UK to:

- Provide support and information to patients and their families

- Fund and support research into bowel cancer

- Campaign for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.

Thank you!
