Story
I'm running the 2018 edition of the Great North Run to raise funds for Bowel Cancer UK ... many of you will know that my Dad was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in 2015, thankfully they caught it early - which meant that his treatment he received over the next 12-18 months managed to beat it. He is now well on the way to recovery - but without the NHS and support from Bowel Cancer UK it wouldn't have been possible.
So I'm going to do my bit and raise some much needed funds, support and awareness for Bowel Cancer UK - whilst plodding the streets of Newcastle, Gatesheeed and South Shields ...
If you are feeling generous enough to support me that would be brilliant and the normal thank you email and messages will follow, watch out for me on BBC 1 on Sunday 9th - I'll be the one coming in just before the red arrows fly past the finish line (for me obviously!) ...
