I’m running the London marathon in 2019 and have chosen an amazing charity to support which is very close to our hearts.

As many people will know, our family have been affected by the ‘C’ word for many years. Maggie’s Centre is a fantastic facility that supports anyone affected by cancer (those with cancer and their families) in lots of different ways.  

My wife Sarah has been living with secondary breast cancer for almost 5 years now. I say ‘living with’ as there is no cure for her condition. Maggie’s has been a life line for her, offering advice and emotional support as well as access to lovely sessions like relaxation classes.  My sister in law Joanne has also benefited from visiting Maggie's during her treatment for primary breast cancer. 

As a family we would love to give Maggie’s something back to thank them for their ongoing support, I wish we’d known about Maggie’s when my dad was going through his treatment 10 years ago, he’s sadly no longer with us, we miss him so much and I feel running the London marathon for a cancer charity will be a fitting tribute to his memory.
