Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page….

They say that cancer affects 1 in 2 of us during our lifetime. Well, in the past 18 months that unfortunate statistic seems to have come true for my friends and family. From prostrate cancer, to breast cancer, to testicular cancer, to bladder cancer, to the pancreatic cancer that claimed my fantastic father in law before Christmas, this past 18 months has affected so many people I love and care for.

As a Leo, and someone who wants to always be in control of everything, other than offering unconditional support and love, the only thing I could think of to do was to sign up to what some of you might say is a “ridiculous” challenge for someone like me… but here goes.

I’m not built for running really, having just turned 50, and “enjoyed” myself along the way. So, signing up to run 60 miles in September, 2 miles a day, every day…. seems like madness and hopefully worthy of a generous donation.

I have signed up for Strava so you can track / audit progress, have dusted off my old Forest kits (although some seem to have shrunk) and bought some air pods. Yes, all of the gear and no idea, but I’m determined to do it even if it means crawling at some points…..

Thanks for your support.
