Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
This summer we're attempting to drive 14,000 km from the UK to Mongolia in aid of Reverse Rett. We'll be crossing 19 countries over 2 months in a wholly inappropriate vehicle.
Reverse Rett exists to accelerate treatments and a cure for Rett syndrome, a condition that affects Tim's sister. Rett syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that affects brain development, resulting in severe mental and physical disability. Girl's with Rett syndrome cannot talk, use their hands and require one-to-one care their entire lives.
Reverse Rett's vision is a world where girls with Rett syndrome are diagnosed much quicker and earlier than they are at the moment. A world where we know much more about the progression of the condition and the factors that affect that progression. A world where at every stage of development, treatments are available to mitigate against the distressing symptoms which can occur, and ultimately a world where treatments are available which cure the condition and allow the girls to live normal lives.
