Tim's Melbourne Marathon 2018 page - MSA

Melbourne Marathon 2018 · 14 October 2018
One and all,
I'm running the Melbourne Marathon in October. I'll be running it for two charities, Multiple System Atrophy Trust (UK) and BeyondBlue (AUS).
Multiple System Atrophy is a charity very close to me. My nan was diagnosed with MSA back in 2009. Her condition deteriorated severely over the years, and unfortunately, she passed away in November 2014.
Multiple system atrophy is a neurological disorder that affects adult men and women. It is caused by degeneration or atrophy of nerve cells in several (or multiple) areas of the brain.
MSA is a rare disease with around 3,300 people in the UK and Ireland currently living with it. Many people, including health professionals, haven't heard of it, which is why the MSA Trust works to raise awareness and increase understanding of MSA throughout the UK.

Please donate generously - after all, I must be one of the first pub darts players to ever run a marathon!
Of course, I'll continue to update you lovely lot throughout my journey.
I'll catch the Melbourne contingent down the pub in October for a big cheers and "I love you all", but for now, it's time to hit the roads. In a bit x
