Brighton Marathon 2023 · 2 April 2023 ·

We put Secondary Breast Cancer first. Because there is no cure yet. This disease spreads to the rest of the body and affects women and men. So finding a cure means a diagnosis is no longer an ultimatum. People will have more days doing what matters most, living the life they love.

Story

Two years ago I thought I was running my last ever marathon and first and last ever sky dive for Secondary 1st.
It's the only charity I know that focuses on research into treatment for secondary breast cancer, exploring ways to treat and control the disease after it has spread.
Together with Lyndell Sloman and Harry Leppard we managed to raise over £5,000. The day after we finished the Brighton marathon I contacted the woman who had introduced me to the charity to let her know how much we'd raised. She was herself a sufferer of Secondary breast cancer but she  never got back to me. I found out later that she's died the day before the race.
So I decided to run these last marathons in her memory and to try and raise some more money.
If anyone can afford to give anything to Secondary 1st every penny the receive is put into research, because everyone who works for them is an unpaid volunteer. So your donation will really be appreciated.
