Story
On April 3rd, I'll be running the Manchester Marathon with my 'partner in cramp' Martin Lisle. I'm dedicating this run to my late Dad Phil, and would love to raise some money for a great cause in his memory.
Dad was a keen marathon runner, with a personal best time well under 3 hours. He introduced me to the agony and ecstasy of endurance running, taking all three of his sons to complete the Athens Classic Marathon in 2006 (at the very respectable age of 60!).
After receiving his terminal diagnosis, Dad still challenged himself to run further, climb higher and explore further than anyone could have hoped. He was colossal as Celebrant of my wedding in February 2020. A year later, Dad passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side.
Our family will be eternally grateful to the incredible team at Severn Hospice in Shrewsbury, who afforded Dad such comfort, kindness and dignity in his final days. Anyone who has been supported by their local hospice will know just how important it is to fund their ongoing work.
There are so many good reasons to save your hard-earned money right now, and so many vital causes that deserve your support. If you are able to donate to this very personal cause, I know it will be a huge motivator on race day and I guarantee every penny will be well spent.
Thank you.
Tim

Severn Hospice is with families from the moment they're referred to its care for as long as they need it, and it does this every day, all day for anyone in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who needs that help .It does this for them for free, but it is not without cost and it can't happen without you. For every £1 you donate, they will spend 83p directly on care - and use the remaining 17p to make another £1.Last year, all those individual donations helped provide more than £9m of caring services. Thank you - you're amazing!
