The Fan Dance Race Series · 6 July 2019 to 13 July 2019 ·

Every week a family in the UK hears the devastating words ‘your child has a rare cancer’. For families facing a diagnosis of retinoblastoma, life changes in an instant. At CHECT, we offer lifelong emotional support, practical advice, and grants to support anyone affected by retinoblastoma.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) is the only UK charity solely dedicated to helping families and individuals affected by retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer. They provide support, raise awareness and fund research into prevention and treatment

The Fan Dance is a gruelling 24km SAS Selection test march staged over Pen y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons carrying a weight of 2 and half stone on your back. The infamous march is the world’s oldest Special Forces test and is used as the first major indicator of whether a candidate has the physical and mental aptitude to complete the legendary Selection course.

I wanted to do something out of my comfort zone, something that would push me to my limits and challenge me mentally and physically. To be honest I think I'm being a bit mad. I am also doing the Yorkshire 3 peaks, carrying the 2 and a half stone on my back, doing the 26 mile distance over 3 peaks.

Any donation you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
