London Legal Support Trust - 5th London Legal sponsored walk · 18 May 2009 ·

The London Legal Support Trust supports the work of social welfare legal centres in London and the Home Counties. Funds raised are targeted to assist requests for help from the centres. This financial aid helps the legal centres overcome funding crises, develop new services, support appeals and improve their premises.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Last year the legal walk raised over £360,000.  I want to help raise even more this year. Please dig deep and sponsor me online (or offline if you prefer).

Half of all I raise will go to the London Legal Support Trust and the other half to the CAB at the Royal Courts of Justice.  In both ways, invaluable support can be given to the increasing number of litigants caught up in the system who cannot afford lawyers and are not eligible for legal aid.  In the present economic circumstances, people's need for help from these centres is all the greater, while other sources of funding for them are under threat.

Last year the RCJ CAB received over £30,000 from the walk alone, covering the core cost of an extra advice worker.  Other agencies avoided having to make staff redundant, and two centres were saved from closure.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: London Legal Support Trust and the CAB will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
