I am participating in The Great North Run to raise money for BEEP Doctors (BASICS) Cumbria.  As a paramedic I know first hand the impact the doctors have when called upon....day and night.

This charity enables volunteer doctors to bring enhanced clinical care to medical and traumatic incidents.

Given the amount of time the whole team put into providing this service I felt that running a half marathon was the least I could do....and in the most illuminous t-shirt I've ever seen!

Whilst the team enthusiastically volunteer their time to support the community, funds are certainly required to keep them equipped and in a position to continue utilising their skills in the pre-hospital environment.
