Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support.

In February 2018 I was overweight and overstressed. Then, one Friday afternoon I had the weirdest chest pain imaginable.

Fast Forward to June and I was found to have 3 blocked arteries - the saving grace was that I hadn't had a heart attack.

I was inspired by friends and the NHS cardiac rehab team to do something about my lifestyle and in Autumn last year I started (very tentatively) running. After a heart procedure the kind of things that go through your mind during any exercise can be a cause of anxiety and without the help of organisations like the BHF I may have given up.

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
