Hadrian's Wall Hike · 19 September 2014 to 21 September 2014 ·

English Heritage cares for over 400 historic properties, over 300 of which are free to visit. Your generosity ensures that as many people as possible can enjoy the buildings, landscapes and objects which tell the story of England now and into the future.

Story

It's now only a few days until we take part in a 'half of Hadrian's' 30-mile sponsored hike challenge. We committed to raising at least £750 between us so, in typical fashion, we've only just got round to putting together this sponsorship page. Please help!

The Internet, in all it's fact-finding glory, has recommended at least 4 days to walk the 'Best of Hadrian's Wall' route that we will complete in just 2 days. It's going to be tough, and, to potentially make it more fun, we're doing this the day after #indyref!

All money raised will go directly to English Heritage who work hard to preserve our historical country for future generations to enjoy, and offer important schemes to keep heritage sites maintained and free for educational groups to learn from. English Heritage receive just over half of their income from Government grants; the remainder raised through fundraising. Sites in their care range from prehistoric stone circles to a 1960s nuclear bunker and include Stonehenge, Charles Darwin's diaries, the Duke of Wellington's boots, and Hadrian's Wall.
