Story
We were lucky enough to have ballot places and wanted to raise some money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of loved ones we have lost or have suffered with heart disease.
Often there is no warning of a problem just the complete shock of a phone call out of the blue. That was the case for both my loved ones and if by raising some money we can prevent more families from going through the same we will be happy.
Tina’s story
We lost my wonderful mum, Margaret who lived with cerebral palsy and the late effects of polio unexpectedly on the 02/12/19. Mum never let her disability hold her back and was known for her cheeky sense of humour! When i found out i was successful in the ballot in October 2019 mum was the first person i called, after rolling over my place for a few years i‘m finally ready to do this.
My brother-in-law George went out for a run on 18/10/22. At 66 George was fit and healthy but collapsed leaving his wife Sharon and 7 younger siblings, family and friends devastated. It seems fitting to run this one in their memory.
Judith’s story
Judith’s parents have both suffered with heart disease so this one is in memory of Judith’s late father Maurice.
