Tina's Manchester 10k run for the CRY charity in memory of Charlie Holden

Morrisons Great Manchester Run 2015 · 10 May 2015 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This is not really my story to tell. It is the story of a local family who suddenly, and tragically, lost their much loved son/brother/grandson/nephew/cousin at the young age of 15 to 'Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome' (SADs).
Charlie Holden was a young, healthy boy in my son's year at school. They had played football together from starting at Cardinal Langley RC High School in Year 7 until this, their final year, Year 11. On Sunday 18th January we received the truly shocking news that Charlie had passed away. The shock and disbelief felt by my family, the family of Cardinal Langley and the community as a whole, was physically palpable.
Charlie's family have amazed me in the wake of his death. Despite the devastation which they are living with day after day, they are dedicated to raising awareness of this silent killer and hopefully preventing other families going through a similar experience.
I have been humbled by their determination and strength, and felt compelled to support this charity in any way that I could.
My aim is to help Claire Holden, (Charlie's Aunt) achieve her target of £1000 for the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). She too is running the Manchester 10K and has inspired me to run too.
Please donate anything you can, no matter how small. By doing so we will hopefully raise awareness of this condition and screen as many young people (aged 14-35 years) as possible.
