**Walking 10,000 Steps Every Day in July for UK Sepsis Trust**
Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that can strike suddenly and devastate lives. It was Sepsis that took my darling mum in October 2023 and this July, I’m walking 10,000 steps every day to raise awareness and support for the UK Sepsis Trust—because no family should have to go through what we did.
My mum was kind, thoughtful, and had a knack for making people laugh. Losing her to Sepsis was sudden and heartbreaking, and nothing can prepare you for how fast it takes hold. I will never get over what happened, my life changed forever that day and I still feel it could/should have been prevented.
Unfortunately , so many other people are going through similar experiences and more needs to be done with regards to diagnosis and prompt action.
Sepsis affects 245,000 people in the UK each year and tragically, 48,000 lives are lost annually—more than breast, bowel, and prostate cancer combined. If not recognized and treated quickly, it can lead to shock, multiple organ failure, and even death. Yet awareness remains low, and too many lives are cut short.
Every step I take is in memory of my mum and in support of those battling Sepsis today. The UK Sepsis Trust works tirelessly to improve recognition, treatment, and education, helping to save lives.
If you’re able to, please consider donating. Your generosity can help fund critical research, support those affected, and make a real difference.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
