Story
This July, I will be taking part in Cancer Research Relay For Life in Aylesbury and challenging myself to walk for the full 24 hours in support of everyone affected by cancer.
For the past few years, I've proudly watched my daughters, along with friends from the Hovercraft Club of Great Britain, take part in this amazing Relay event as members of "The Hovernauts" team. Seeing their dedication to such an important cause has been truly inspiring, and this year I've decided it's my turn to step up and join them in supporting the fight against cancer.
The thought of walking for 24 hours is a little daunting, and I’m sure there will be moments when I’m tired and questioning why I signed up! But any discomfort I feel will be temporary, and insignificant compared to the daily challenges faced by people living with cancer, and by those supporting loved ones through treatment and recovery.
The Relay For Life event in Aylesbury brings our community together to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and raise vital funds for life-saving research.
As part of my fundraising efforts, I have already taken part, along with Georgia, in the 5k Race for Life Aylesbury earlier this month. At the end of June, I will also be taking part in the 5k Race for Life Oxford with Georgia, as well as Big Charlie and Little Charlie 😊.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help fund vital cancer research, bringing hope to those affected and helping to develop better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
If you are able to support me, I would be incredibly grateful. Your generosity will help make a real difference in the lives of so many people. Please also feel free to share this post with your friends, family, and colleagues on social media. The more people who see it, the more awareness we can raise and the greater impact we can make together.
Thank you for your kindness, encouragement, and support. Together, we can help create a future where more people survive cancer.
