Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 8th of August 2013, my dad lost his battle against prostate cancer, an illness which he fought against since 2009.

In the later months before he passed, he was a patient at Willowbrook, a local hospice which treats people with life limiting illnesses.

He was cared for greatly by the nurses and carers at the hospice. Throughout his illness, we saw a dramatic change in a short few months, but when he was in the hospice, he had a new lease of life, laughing and smiling, cracking jokes with the nurses and sharing stories about his life and even managed to take a few day trips out, something he hadn't managed to do for a few months before he checked into the hospice. My dad thought very highly of all the staff at the hospice, always sending me to buy them sweets to say thank you for doing a great job.

Last year me and my friends and family took part in a sponsored abseil for the hospice, but this year I am going one step higher, and jumping out of a plane instead, all in memory of my amazing inspiring dad who was such a brilliant role model and loved by all.

Thank you for visiting my page and taking time to read my story. Every little helps for this brilliant hospice who gave my dad hope and happiness before he passed away! I know he would be proud that I am raising money for such a worthy cause.
