#TeamWomensAid will be running the Bath Half Marathon on it's new postponement date of Sunday 29th May 2022 to raise funds to support women and children affected by domestic abuse.

Story

The Bath Half Marathon has be postponed to 16th October 2022, but we will still be there to run our socks off! We care strongly about this matter. The Femicide census showed from last year to now there have been 118 women’s deaths, for which a man has been either charged with or convicted of killing them. In the first two weeks alone of lockdown one; there were 10 women and two children killed (three times higher than the average of three women killed every two weeks). Child survivors have experienced worsening abuse during lockdown, witnessing more and this is having an immeasurable impact

We want to make a difference. We are aware of the detrimental impact Covid-19 has had, for survivors in the form of restrictions, increased tactics of coercive control, fewer opportunity to access support and under-funded services meaning survivors are finding themselves increasingly trapped. There absolutely needs to be a greater awareness of domestic abuse.

We are inspired by the work that Women's Aid do to help women and children affected by domestic abuse, so we wanted to raise money for them as part of our participation in the Bath Half Marathon 2022.

Please help us help them by sponsoring us for this run! The more people that know about Women's Aid the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing this page with your friends and family.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, especially in these tougher times, it means more than can be imagined. #TeamWomensAid
