Janine is doing a sponsored walk for Tearfund

100 miles in 10 days · 27 March 2021
For the last twelve months I have been shielding on and off. Some of the time it’s been fine and I’ve enjoyed having time for things I would not normally have time for. At other times, it has felt very frustrating, particularly during the winter, when it’s been difficult to find things to focus on (apart from household tasks which have felt increasingly monotonous!). Walking has been my solace; as well as improving my physical fitness, focusing on nature and the changing seasons have really helped lift my spirits.
And so I’ve set myself a challenge; to walk 100miles in 10 days.
As an additional incentive I’ve decided to try raise some money to help others at the same time. I’ve chosen to support the charity Tearfund. Tearfund is a Christian charity supporting projects and initiatives in some of the poorest countries in the world (including Yemen, Syria, Iraq as well as many others). They help by responding to disasters as well as working on community development projects to help those societies become more resilient and self sufficient.
If you are able to donate, all donations made during during March and April are being doubled by a group supporters of the charity. Thank you in advance.
